Iran Develops New Battlefield Control System:
TEHRAN (FNA)- The
Iranian Armed Forces have developed a new system, named 'Nama', which
helps commanders monitor and control the battle ground from inside their
moving vehicle, a senior commander announced on Wednesday.
"Project Nama is the latest achievement of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense
Base in the field of battlefield command by means of which commanders
can monitor the battle ground from inside a moving vehicle," Commander
of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli
said.
He said the previous systems made commanders monitor the battlefield
from the command center, which could be tracked and destroyed by the
enemies very easily. "But by using Nama, the commander of a goven (war)
zone can control all missile and cannon systems and (therefore) the
speed and precision of the commander's decision-making will increase
considerably."
In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense
sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military
equipment and systems.
Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan underlined in
August that he is determined to enhance the country’s defense
capabilities during his tenure in a bid to defend the country against
possible foreign threats.
Brigadier General Dehqan made the pledge in his message issued on the occasion of the Defense Industry Day.
“Upgrading defense capabilities and deterrence power (of the country)
to defend the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, national
interests and security, exercising effective confrontation against
foreign threats, and establishing a regional balance constitute the
roadmap of the Islamic Republic’s defense industry movement till
reaching the desired destination,” Dehqan said in a statement.
Dehqan termed the Iranian defense industries as a symbol of power,
might, progress and self-sufficiency of the Islamic Republic.
